When you call, you're assigned a contact who will be your point person throughout your move. This person, Brian, was very courteous and helpful. Moving is never any fun, but Brian knew what he was talking about, we were able to create our estimate, and I signed electronically. Easy. The crew that came to pick up my belongings was on time, efficient, and very courteous. I did not pay by the hour--and they took their time with my belongings. They did a great job wrapping my antique bed, tv, and other precious items. When the moving van was en route to my destination, I received text message updates on my phone, so I knew where the truck was at any given moment. The team that delivered my belongings actually arrived early and was amazing at unpacking and putting everything together. It was seamless. Nothing broken, nothing lost. I liked the personnel, they had a lot of energy and took a lot of pride in their work. Communication was great throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Long Distance Movers! read less

They moved the basic living necessities, bed, dresser, couple lamps, bar stools and book shelf. Nothing arrived damaged & they didn't hassle me to pay more after rates were discussed. Not the typical annoying movers I've dealt with for local moves. Way more established and well put together. I plan to use them again for moving back home. I got the car at a discounted rate from a private seller and used Long Distance Movers to ship it back down since my busy work schedule didn't allow me to drive up there. I gave them a ring and was quickly quoted a price. I told them it was urgent for the car to get back to me ASAP as I was using my mom's car to get to work and back. I was assured the car would arrive the next day after my call and I woke up anxiously waiting to get it. I got a call 30 min before they arrived and once they got to my house, the unloading process went by pretty quickly. The reason I say finalizing is because I had first gone with another company who was unable to complete the work. Unlike like Long Distance Movers they showed up late, took extremely long, and lost several belongings on mine.

Once my dad decided to fire them and research a more reputable company was when we had the pleasure to work with Long Distance Movers. They made the move very simple and comfortable for our entire family which was exactly what we were looking for, they showed great care and caution in dealings with all of our stuff as much of it had close, sentimental value to us like family heirlooms.

My plan upon hiring a professional moving company was to not spend too much time away from work or school. They gave me what I ideally wanted and more in regards to a moving company. I did not have to coach them through the process and repeat anything we had discussed. The leader of the crew took notes and managed his crew very well. It showed and was very apparent how much effort they put into my move through their experience. Moving isn't as simple or complicated as most make it sound.

If you want to have a peaceful move that does not cause tension, headaches, or get hectic like they are known to create. I personally am a very impatient person and I don't like to waste my time so I'm glad I came across this company because it feels like they even saved my life. If I were to do things on my own it would probably take a life time, but instead, all I had to do was dial a number and make a small payment. It was all very affordable and very much worth it. I had to ship everything in my house down to my new house, which I may mention, is quite far away. They did everything for me in a short ammount of time, and I did not have to worry about a single thing.

They were so willing to cooperate with us in any way possible, including meeting our deadlines and bringing special types of equipment to ensure the safety of our stuff. One example is the wooden crates they had that enabled all of the things you needed to be moved to remain still while they are shipped.
Since your stuff is moving many miles across the country insurance would be something good to consider. They offered us several affordable deals as well as a bundle that included insurance. Very reliable company and they are willing to help you out understanding the current state of the economy.
The best part of this whole thing is that they even helped us clear out the unnecessary stuff in our house and found us a good and cheap storage company to store our stuff into. We had a lot of furniture that needed to remain in the old house and they offered us to move those out if need be. But my parents were ordering new sets of couches and kitchen tables so I guess we really did not need it. Nevertheless, very great experience and would consider using them again. read less

I had the need for a very specific moving solution, involving a long distance move from NY to LA and storage for about 3 months till I was settled. I found the company online and sent them a request for a quote. Patrick from their client desk got in touch with me immediately, worked out my needs and gave me a very reasonable quote that covered everything I asked for. In comparison, other movers came in at a much more expensive rate and provided half the service. Patrick also followed up and checked on everything throughout the process.

On the date of the move, the movers came in within 30 mts of the start of the window, they called me in advance. The movers were thorough and efficient. Handled both the furniture and the apartment with care, plus they did everything in about 4 hours. The drop off was the same, on time, professional efficient.

The best part was almost no breakage, some very minor scratches/dents. I was impressed at how well they had taken care of everything. Would recommend these guys for anyone planning a long distance move. Thanks guys! read less

This was my first long distance moving and I had no idea how to do it. I asked my friend to help me to find a good moving company that I could trust, and fortunately we found Long Distance Moving in internet. First, I called them and they answered to all my questions, then I made an appointment. Thay came exactly on time and helped me to wrap all my belongings. That two guys were very professional and worked as a team. None of my belongings were lost or damaged. I thought this moving will be so hard and stressful, but these guys made it so easy and perfect.

We had a very strict date to meet our move and to get everything out of our old place and into storage. We called and received an estimation right the next day and assured us that it would be no problem to accommodate to our deadline.

A supervisor arrived the following morning and said that they have several trucks and workers on call, ready to work if necessary! We noticed two gentlemen outside with him and apparently there were many more prepared to arrive if they felt the extra manpower was necessary. He scanned the entire house from the boxes to the couches and even took an extra look at the glass china that my parents love to collect.

He offered us a cheap insurance plan and assured me that with or without it they will be nothing but cautious with all of our things. We purchased it just because you are never too sure and when you have glass objects or fragile belongings that might crack or shatter you just want to be safe. Luckily none of those things happened and we were able to complete the entire first floor of the move the first day. The second floor and the basement took another day and a half but we managed to finish two days prior to our move in date and all of our stuff was scheduled to arrive before we even landed! So happy with how things turned out, try these guys they are great. read less

All of the guys we got assigned were hard workers and they spent no time fooling around, they got straight to work. Before we even got a chance to offer to help we had realized they had cleared out an entire room, we had a large basement that needed to be emptied out as well. The moving crew who came to Galveston were friendly and very professional. We were told we would be contacted in a day or two with the delivery date. During the week this move occurred there were icy conditions on the roads out of Galveston. We received the call with the date of delivery as we were on the road to Florida. We couldn't have been more pleased that our furniture would arrive the day after our arrival! No sleeping on an air mattress in an empty apartment.
