Thanks to these guys they helped me overcome my issues. From the very beginning I called them they assured me of stress free service and delivered what they promised. Communication and booking were very easy. The movers came on time, I was still finishing up packing of my stuff. The guys told me to 'seat back and relax, we'll do packing for you'.
So long story short: I received my things at my new place as I scheduled them to be delivered - on time, safe and sound, no damage!

She answered all my questions and was extremely patient and caring. I tend to get nervous and ask a lot of questions and Grace was there for me every step of the way. The movers on both ends of the move were top quality. They disassembled and reassembled my furniture and showed great care in my items. Everyone i spoke with at Long Distance Movers was extremely professional and knowledgable. John in QA was very nice and called me after my move to ensure all went well and to my satisfaction. The team showed up on time, was personable and hard-working. My two movers - Marcus and Andrew - were great. They were both super hard workers...they carried my numerous boxes and large furniture up and down my two story apartment without taking a break. We found Long Distance Movers on Yelp and decided to use them based on the reviews, and we are glad we did. The movers came in and wrapped all our furniture with the heavy moving blankets. All the boxes and furniture were labeled with numbers and descriptions. It was pretty impressive. They gave us a 14-business day window from when we can first take the delivery, which seems long, but we just planned accordingly. I received texts keeping us posted.

We decided to stay in Chicago for about a week after they picked up our items, and our car actually got to LA before us. Our furniture and boxes arrived the day after we flew in. Keep in mind it all depends on how many other stops the truck needed to make along the way, so maybe we got lucky.

My advice would be to provide as accurate a list of your items as possible, and try to make minimal changes to that, since it will affect your quote. But you'll always find other items that you forgot to list. I gave a guess-timate on the number of boxes we would have, but you won't really know how much until after your pack. I told them 25 medium boxes, but we ended up using some large boxes and went over the count. Be as realistic as possible and don't go over too much from what you originally said. If so, let them know so you don't get a surprise on moving day.

As mentioned in other reviews, it's a bit pricier but got what we paid for. Moving is never easy and maybe we were expecting the worst-case scenario, but we were pleasantly surprised. I can only speak on our experience, but we were very satisfied with the communication and service. We would definitely use them again. read less

Since the moment the receptionist at Long Distance answered the phone, they took a genuine interest in my move and worked tirelessly to help resolve any concerns I had. Let me tell you that this company is EXCELLENT ! I researched moving companies on Yelp as that is my go to website to find companies that I can trust to produce positive outcomes. Customer service was excellent . My initial phone contact was with "Kelly" and she was so helpful, professional, and coordinated both Home and auto move so smoothly! The Home Movers were so professional and wrapped our computers, TV and furniture so well and on delivery every item was perfect.
The auto shipment was timely and employees were excellent and auto was delivered in perfect condition- I can't say enough about how impressed I am with LDM! I will recommend them to everyone !!

I found the company online and sent them a request for a quote. Patrick from their client desk got in touch with me immediately, worked out my needs and gave me a very reasonable quote that covered everything I asked for. In comparison, other movers came in at a much more expensive rate and provided half the service. Patrick also followed up and checked on everything throughout the process.

On the date of the move, the movers came in within 30 mts of the start of the window, they called me in advance. The movers were thorough and efficient. Handled both the furniture and the apartment with care, plus they did everything in about 4 hours. The drop off was the same, on time, professional efficient.

The move began at 9am and they were able to get everything finished by late afternoon 4pm. That included some help with packing as well. The movers were very good but the real star was the driver. I chose Long Distance Movers because of their reviews, and I am so happy I did.

1.- The movers picking and dropping off my belongings were extremely professional and punctual. They arrive right at the start of the window for both pickup and drop off. On the pickup, they even repacked stuff to make sure it was secure.

2. I loved receiving notifications of where my stuff was at. It helped me estimate and coordinate time off at work better.

3. All my stuff arrived with NO damage. Even though it was snowing when the movers dropped my stuff, there was no water damage on any of the boxes.

It was a bit pricier than other movers, but not by much and it was worth it. read less

If you think about it, this is a niche market that has always and will presumably continue to exist forever! People are always moving, but it is such a hassle and headache to deal with. But after getting into reach with these guys, my entire perspective has changed!

They were worth every single penny. They helped us packing, organizing, and transporting all of our boxes, including fragile and sentimental objects that we have had for years. They were very personable and caring gentlemen who knew that it was our personal belongings that they were handling and seemed to portray great care and respect towards our stuff. I really appreciated that.

Upon finishing the packing and all, we received two more gentlemen who had straps around their stomachs and brought these insane looking dollies and hoists. They were the guys in charge of lifting the heaviest things apparently, the refrigerator and washing machines and the other things. I honestly did not know what we would do without their help! Thank you so much for the service and we would totally recommend them to anyone else in need of a helping hand for moving. read less

From the very start when they called me I was like yeah yeah blah blah because the prices were RIDICULOUS and very much over-price from "Other" interstate moving companies that we see everyday on the highways.

From the start Jeff was Awesome he understood I was prepared to rent a truck and that was that. He placed me on hold came back gave me a great price. That wasn't un-reasonable. They coordinated with me in kept me in the loop. The drivers showed up TRULY enjoyed Adam, ERIC, and George! They were so professional made me feel at ease was taking the time to move my belongings gently. No marks, scoffs on my walls, and floors. These guys worked So HARD!!! And we laughed and joked while they still got the job done! This was such a pleasant experience I'm so Glad I used this company. Best part of all THERE was no BAIT and SWITCH!

She couldn't get it restored in San Diego so we offered her to get it restored here in LA. I found long distance movers as they were really reliable cross country movers. They said they had special packing service that provided double protection of load so when the wardrobe was delivered we saw that it was really packed safely. read less

He was great, as a... read moreNot sure how I found them but called for a quote to move my condo from Philadelphia to San Diego and talked to Mark K. He was great, as a matter of fact he was so great I got suspicious. As it turned out he was really great. They were amazing. Every step of the way went so perfect I kept getting nervous something was going to go wrong. Again I was wrong and everything went perfectly. The crew that came to pack up were probably the nicest group of guys I could have wished for. They were efficient, careful, organized and as a bonus fun to work with.
So they packed up on Monday and Tuesday and delivery was supposed to be the following week on Wednesday. I flew to San Diego to find my condo not even close to being ready for the delivery. I called Mark and again, no problem. They held my stuff and could not have been more accommodating and understanding.
Now for my car. I also needed that to be shipped. Called Mark, got a pickup date I wanted and a week later my car arrived in San Diego. Now on the other hand my son called DAS who picked up his car and had it in PA for over a month, wouldn't answer the phone and when they did they hung up on him. They finally told him it might be another month or two before they could get it to San Diego. I called Mark and said HELP. Two days later we got a release from DAS, Mark had the car picked up from where they were holding it and a week later my son had his car.
They say moving is one of the most stressful things you can do and it is probably true, however, these guys gave me zero stress and were a pleasure to deal with. Sometime I guess if things seem to good to be true you just have to sit back and enjoy it.

I actually shipped my car over the Christmas holidays but the driver got it there in a very reasonable time. I know they're not the cheapest option out there but I really didn't want to take a chance on having any kind of issue knowing that I would be moving to a completely foreign place for me. But I'm really glad I had them help me since they also allowed me to keep some things in the trunk.

The driver communicated very well for pick up and delivery and he also waited for me for a day to adjust to my flight schedule.
If I had to ship my car again I'd definitely use it. Even if it's slightly more money the fact that I can trust them to ship my car safely without a problem is worth every penny. read less

I moved into the area recently and was recommended to them by a friend. They did a great job been on time and was very careful with all of my house hold items. I recently moved into a new place and wasn't able to move everything by myself.

We had a very strict date to meet our move and to get everything out of our old place and into storage. We called and received an estimation right the next day and assured us that it would be no problem to accommodate to our deadline.

A supervisor arrived the following morning and said that they have several trucks and workers on call, ready to work if necessary! We noticed two gentlemen outside with him and apparently there were many more prepared to arrive if they felt the extra manpower was necessary. He scanned the entire house from the boxes to the couches and even took an extra look at the glass china that my parents love to collect.

He offered us a cheap insurance plan and assured me that with or without it they will be nothing but cautious with all of our things. We purchased it just because you are never too sure and when you have glass objects or fragile belongings that might crack or shatter you just want to be safe. Luckily none of those things happened and we were able to complete the entire first floor of the move the first day. The second floor and the basement took another day and a half but we managed to finish two days prior to our move in date and all of our stuff was scheduled to arrive before we even landed! So happy with how things turned out, try these guys they are great. read less
